What does Cowfields do?

Good question. The simple answer is Web Design and Development, Training and Consultancy. But affordable. We have spent a lot of time with smaller businesses and organisations and keep it within their price range, so they don't have to compromise on quality.

Below is some clarification on what we can provide but the bottom line to all areas is we will tailor something specific to you. A website will be custom built, training will be specific to your skill set. You're individual in your field, and so is what we would do for you.

Web Design

What you see in a website. We're happy to just revamp a site that doesn't quite have a visual kick to be memorable. But we'd love to completely do things from the ground up too, give you an identity - a good logo, a fun interface.

Thing is, Cowfields believes that a pretty website you cannot use isn't really that pretty at all. A website has to be functional, and accessible. We have done lots of work with government and community based organisations and so we have experience conforming to W3C standards, and taking into account that some visitors to the websites we create may be using accessibility tools such as screen readers.

On top of that, we don't want any of our users to feel 'lost' in our sites, so navigation is always key and central to how we build a website.

Web Development

What you do with a website. It's not as obvious as the design side talked about above, but it's arguably more important.

To put it another way, what do you want your website to do? We never provide sites 'out of the box' and will listen to what you want to communicate to customers and viewers first, and if you need any information back from visitors.

As websites grow, more and more content becomes harder to manage and that is why we build custom content management systems. Web based interfaces to let you add information and content to your site quickly and efficiently, letting the website take care of the HTML and links. No more broken links, and keeping the design consistent. It's all about usability again.

Many 'out of the box' solutions exist however most of these can require a large amount of know-how to set up in the first place! Our customers benefit from letting the experts take care of it, but more importantly, your website does what you want it to do.

Web Develepment doesn't stop at simply adding text and images to pages however. Content you create from interfaces we build can also be custom searched - that is to say users search how you want them to.

Furthermore, information can be processed in a variety of ways. From questionnaires to dynamic 'pushpins' in maps, we can take data through the site and re-work it into a form more digestable for you and your users

Web Development is also about providing security. You may have sensitive information that you do not want public, yet need to be available from anywhere in the world for the people that need to see it. For this reason we can create username-and-password protected areas. You can provide individual log-ins for each person, or perhaps provide different 'access levels' to grant various priveleges based on the user.

Training and Consultancy

Corporate Training isn't only needed by larger companies with a huge workforce. Small business may need training in various applications and we can help. Personal and specific training can be provided to help out in the areas you don't have time to learn on your own.
